About

Welcome to Life of a Blind girl. Like the title of my blog states…yes I’m blind! I am a blind student studying Children, young people and families at York St John University with the aim of supporting other blind and visually impaired people like myself when I graduate. I have been blind since birth, I suffer from an eye condition called Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP).

The main aim of my blog is to help other blind and visually impaired people or anyone with a disability. I also aim to tackle the stigma surrounding disability; I will try my best to educate people on disability itself and write about my experiences as a blind person in the sighted world. By doing this, I hope it portrays the fact that just because a person is blind, visually impaired or has another disability it does not mean that they cannot get to where they want to be in life, it does not mean that they have to be treated any differently to anyone else and it does not mean that they cannot carry out everyday tasks and activities because truth is, they can.

I will be blogging about all things disability, assistive technology, lifestyle and beauty just to name a few.

I hope you enjoy reading my blog posts and enjoy exploring my blog itself.
